KIA Information: Known to have been killed at Wolfheze and buried by civilians in the cemetery of the Psychiatric Hospital at Wolfheze.
His ID tag and army paybook were taken and handed over to one of the Dutch doctors but they got lost during the evacuation.
Sergeant Joe Conlon, his platoon sergeant, told me he visited the grave whilst in hiding in the area, and in doing so lost his dogtags near the grave through this Haggerty was buried as Sergeant J. Conlon, when it turned out the last one he was alive, this was altered in an unknown grave.
