My research about the Battalion and their part in the Arnhem Battle, started in March 1993, when I wrote to the Museum and received a reply by the then much helpful curator Major J. Carroll. In June 1995 I had written a small publication and send him a draft of it and asked to have a look at it and when he found it interesting enough to write a forward word for the final publication, not knowning that it took 26 years until it was finally published!
Through his help and that of my late friend Frank Newhouse of the Arnhem Veterans Club, I was able to obtain some addresses from former men of the Battalion who fought at Arnhem and where the only "infantry" men who were able to join the Arnhem Veterans Club due to their actions to help 1st Airborne Division.
In 1997 I was in touch again with "The Keep" by then Major L.D. Brown was the curator, we where using a fax machine!
